As we close in on the v1.34 release I’m pleased to present more preview footage to all paid subscribers. (Mod content itself will always remain completely free to play.)

In this extended preview clip a task force of New Republic ships led by two captured Imperial-class Star Destroyers attacks the Imperial-held world of Emmer. The first obstacle is a Golan III NovaGun orbital defence platform. Swarms of New Republic fighters and bombers are called in to strafe the platform and drain its shields.

The frigate Quenfis provides ECM and line of sight support, allowing the first New Republic Star Destroyer to deploy at extreme weapons range with its consorts, before moving in to engage the Golan III. The platform is now stripped of its shields from heavy fighter and bomber attack, its point defence system overloaded by the sheer mass of torpedoes and concussion missiles.

The rest of the New Republic fleet then jumps in and the Imperial ships, lured to the wrong side of the planet by the intrusion of a raid fleet, return to engage the rebels. What follows is a really interesting battle: with two Imperial I-class Star Destroyers for the New Republic’s line of battle versus some unusual ship types for the Galactic Empire, including smaller Harrow and Procursator-class ships.

See what happens next!
