Age of Legends will be expanding into multiple new eras once v2.0 is launched. Pre-development work has already begun on various spin-off mods, and one we’re particularly excited about is the Rule of Two, a mod set in the final centuries of the Galactic Republic.

This era will be depicted as it has never been shown before. Unifying myriad sources, stories and media types from the Legends continuity. Before we set out any details about unit rosters (coming later this week for subscribers!) we want to talk about the approach the mod will take.

Heroes on both sides

In the original Clone War multimedia arc, the Republic is portrayed in a far more ambivalent light than in the Filoni-verse. Many Jedi consider defecting to the Separatists, several do defect. Republic-aligned forces commit war crimes in several theatres.

The Clones are much more like Jango Fett, especially the ARC Troopers. And they consciously execute Order 66.

The late Republic is already highly reminiscent of the Empire. In Labyrinth of Evil and the deleted scenes from the Revenge of the Sith, the Republic is already highly authoritarian. Civil liberties are curtailed and Moffs are already being appointed.

The Imperial military’s sector commands - Black Sword command and Shadow Hand command - are already established, with those sinister sounding names, under the Republic….
