Essential Guide #5: Restored Empire (Faction In-Depth)
The Restored Empire uses fleets of salvaged Venators and Acclamators. Can these old classics triumph once again? Read on for a full preview of the new Restored Empire faction and the release date!
What Is The Restored Empire?
Founded by ex-Imperial assassin Ennix Devian, the Restored Empire (also known as the Kaarenth Dissension) is a hardline Imperial splinter group devoted to a pure vision of Palpatine’s New Order. They consider the Imperial Remnant to be sell-outs, and the New Republic to be mere Rebels. Despite a small power-base, their discovery of a massive cache of Clone Wars-era ships and vehicles makes them a force to be reckoned with. They can field armadas of Venator-class Star Destroyer and iconic GAR ground vehicles like the AT-TE.

Playable Galactic Conquests:
The Restored Empire will initially be playable in the following Galactic Conquest (GC) scenarios:
11 ABY: Crimson Empire
11-12 ABY: Champions of the Force
12-14 ABY: Jedi Outcast
13 ABY: Empire Lost
The first three of these GCs are existing scenarios which have been expanded with new factions. The last is completely new. If you want to try the Restored Empire for the first time, play them in ‘13 ABY: Empire Lost’ as this is where they have their best starting position.
Overview:
The Restored Empire usually start with just their homeworld, the not very memorably named RZ7-6113-23, and perhaps one or two nearby planets. Their only outright advantage is that they do start with a full population cap worth of units.
They are on a borderland between the big beasts on either side of them: the Pentastar Alignment to the galactic west, and the Crimson Empire to the south and east. But when playing as the Restored Empire you can turn this difficulty into an advantage: wait for big clashes between these two larger factions, and then slip in after a battle and defeat whatever is left, claiming the world for yourself.
Beginners may struggle as the Restored Empire in Galactic Conquests, but you can always try them out in space skirmish mode to get used to their ships before plunging in. Future releases will include many more large-scale maps with many smaller factions on them. In scenarios of that type the Restored Empire will be less difficult to play as.
