Announcing: the Community Beta

What's in the Galactic Overhaul v1.34 beta? When is it out? And how can you get access to it?

The moment long awaited is very nearly here. And I’m delighted to say that this Friday I will be releasing the Community Beta of v1.34: the Galactic Overhaul to all subscribers.

This is the biggest update to Age of Legends in a long time, overhauling some fundamental gameplay systems and adding masses of new content. Some of the key features include:

• New units for every single faction

• Completely rebuilt New Republic faction

• Completely rebuilt and massively expanded Galactic Empire faction

• Imperial leadership and regime mechanic

• Customisable Imperial squadron loadouts for Star Destroyers

• Overhauled space tooltips

• New space station system (sell and upgrade space stations)

• New playable faction: Ylesian Republic

• New Galactic Conquest map, ‘28 ABY: The Battle for Ylesia’

• Heavily upgraded AI now poses a serious challenge to the player

• Sound overhaul (with more to follow in subsequent releases)

• New faction colours to enhance readability

• Many tweaks, rebalances, bug fixes

The Beta is an opportunity to gain early access to v1.34. But its primary purpose is to test for bugs, identify any issues, and ensure that the full launch of v1.34 goes smoothly! All subscribers are welcome to play, and a link will be shared in a news post on Friday: but bear in mind this is primarily meant for testing, and it will not be as polished as the final version.

That said, I’m so excited to share this work the community. I’ve been working on this single release for more than a year: and it lays the ground for a lot of content and systems that I am hugely excited about for the future, as well as adding in a truly gigantic amount of material.
